If you’re a fan of games that utilise the theme of Eastern Asia, then Dragon’s Temple could be a great option for you to play next. This one takes you right into the heart of ancient China, and, of course, being named after the dragon, it presents a fairly over-used theme in general. However, try to look past the generic exterior of this one and delve in to the game itself. While it is designed and provided by IGT, it doesn’t have overwhelmingly strong graphics incorporated into it. That’s not to say that the graphics are specifically bad, but they’re just fairly average on the whole. It’s also been given an authentic oriental soundtrack as well, giving an extra sense of atmosphere to the game. It’s also presented against a backdrop of cherry blossoms and a deep orange sky, while the reels are present in the forefront of this.

The Temple of Luck Awaits You

You’ll find that the overall view of the game is presented on five reels and three rows, so it’s a very generic offering as far as interface is concerned. However, it’s upon these reels that you’ll find that the various different icons are housed, and these begin with very Eastern inspired A, J, K, Q and 10 symbols. These are joined by three other stand symbols, which exist in the game in the form of a vase, a green koi carp and a pair of hanging lanterns. However, the remaining icon is of a Chinese pagoda, and this offers up the highest paying standard symbol to you, with five of them on a pay line providing you with a maximum pay out of 500 coins.

Joining the icons, reels and rows, the Dragon’s Temple game provides you with a total of 50 different pay lines, but you do have the chance to customise these if you have a preference for doing so. This is done simply by pressing on the plus and minus buttons next to the ‘Lines’ box. Players are also able to change around the value of the wager that is placed as well, which provides you with a range of between £0.50 and £600. This is the overall maximum bet that you’re able to place. An ‘Auto’ button has also been added to the game, allowing you to set the reels off spinning for a number of consecutive times at the same wager level.

Take a Trek Through Ancient China!

When you’re stranded in ancient China (bear with us as we get this particular scenario mapped out), you’ll need a little bit of assistance to navigate your way through the streets and cities. IGT have managed to incorporate some special features into this game in order to assist you with such, starting with the icon of its very own logo. This symbol is the wild icon, and whenever this shows up on the reels, it will substitute for all other icons in order to form a winning combination. The only exception to this rule is the scatter symbol. Should you manage to spin five of these on to a winning pay line, you’ll find that you’ll receive a maximum pay out of 1,000 coins.

And speaking of the scatter symbol, this is represented by the Yin and Yang image. This can only show up on reels two, three and four, but it provides a pay out wherever it shows up on these reels. Should three of them come into view though, you’ll also trigger the game’s freespins selection round. In this, you need to select one of three freespins options, which are included as the following:

  • Receive 15 freespins where the third reel is wild in every one of them.
  • Receive 10 freespins where reels two and four are wild in every one.
  • Receive 5 freespins where reels one, three and five are wild in every one.

The base game also features five differently coloured dragon icons – one in purple, one in red, another in green, a fourth in blue and the fifth in gold. Should these come into view, they’ll act as a wild icon in the first instance, standing in for all other icons, except for scatters, on the reels. Should they do this, the icon will also expand across the entire reel, giving you the opportunity to create more wins as they do.

The Final Word

Dragon’s Temple is a decent enough offering, although advertisements for it would have you believe that the graphics are stronger than what they actually are. Overall though, the special features of the game more than make up for this and you should definitely check out some new casino sites in search of the game.
