We all know that the Pokémon franchise has been taking the world by storm over several years now. So, it’s unsurprising that an online game developer would fashion a slot game such as Slotomon Go. Taking all the fun and wonder of the Japanese hit television show, this game by SoftSwiss presents a very appealing offering. Of course, the company isn’t able to create something that is directly a copy of the popular franchise without collaborating with the developer. So, instead, SoftSwiss have made their own version of the odd creatures and they’re all within this game for you to see. It offers a fun take on all of the beloved pocket monsters and includes a nice set of visually appealing graphics. Of course, no game that takes on such a theme would be complete without the addition of special features. Fortunately Slotomon Go isn’t about to let down gamers in this area. But, a little more on these later on.

Slotomon…Gotta Spin ’em All!

The game takes on a fairly average layout of five reels and three rows. With this being the case, it won’t offer up anything difficult or unfamiliar to gamers. It’s upon these reels that you’re able to find the various different symbols as well. As we said, SoftSwiss went right ahead with the creation of their own pocket monsters and these make up the different icons. These include an almost cactus-like creature, a ghost wearing sunglasses, something that looks like a cross between a horse and a bear, and many more. There’s even a vibrant octopus-like creature on the reels as well!

Further to this, the game also has a total of five different pay lines in it. This seems quite a small amount in comparison to those games on offer from many other recent launches. Furthermore, you do have the chance to adjust these to suit your own personal preferences between one and five. You’re also able to change around the amount of the wager that you place per spin as well. This is done with the ‘Bet Value’ box. There, you can chance the amount between €0.01 and €1 per active line. This means that a maximum overall wager of €5 per spin can be in play. There’s also an ‘Auto Spins’ button available to utilise alongside.

Build Up Your Own Collection of Monsters

Now, it’s quite common for video slot games today to have a myriad of special features in them. From freespins rounds to wild icons, scatters and bonus game rounds. And there’s often times more than one bonus round that you can access. As far as this game goes, that is not the case. The main, and really the only special feature is the diamond icon. This is the game’s wild icon as standard. As such, it will stand in for all other symbols on the reels in order to form a winning combination.

The wild icon does have another function to it though. It is able to provide you with a total of 10 freespins altogether. Not only that, but during the freespins round, you’ll be given one of the pocket monsters as an assistant. The gem icon can also be caught more than once in any pay line win, and it will therefore multiply the pay out. In actuality, this can increase your winnings by multiplying them up to times 1,500.

The Final Word

We don’t like to speak ill of games in our online slots reviews that have only just been brought to our screens, but as far as this one goes, we can’t help but feel it could have had more done to it. It feels a little bit unfinished on the whole. Sure, the graphics are great and the general game play is also entertaining. However, in basing a game on such a phenomenon as Pokémon, you certainly need to pull out all the stops. Really, it could have done with some kind of bonus round where you can catch the monsters. Or perhaps each of the monsters could bring their own kind of element to the game. Overall, it’s a decent addition to the SoftSwiss catalogue, but we would really like more additional features.
