We know by now that Thunderkick are great at providing online slot games with unique features, right? Of course, this is never truer than in the developer’s release of Well of Wonders. Like many of Thunderkick’s other launches, it doesn’t contain the standard reels and rows usually associated with slot games. Instead, it provides a unique take on such, which we’ll discuss a little bit later. The visual appeal of it is up to the usual amazing standard that this developer inserts into all of its games. The background has a huge tree on display, giving the impression that the game takes place in the middle of an enchanted forest. In front of this tree stands a stone well, the prime focus of the overall theme. And as you’ll see upon loading Well of Wonders up, the gameplay and overall design are out of this world. It’s a testament to just how good this developer is with its creativity.

Find Out What Wonders Await You!

Usually, you’d find us discussing the amount of reels and rows in play right about now. However, as we said, Well of Wonders doesn’t really include these. Instead, you’ll find that there are just random icons hanging around. There really isn’t any specific way to describe these icons as they’re not really in the shape of anything. At best, we’d probably say that they’re forest fruits of some kind. Of course, this forest has gone through some sort of enchantment, so they’re not in the shape of blackberries, that’s for sure! However, there are seven of them appearing on the game screen, each in a different colour. They do fall in line with the overall design of the game though. This means that they feature Thunderkick’s high quality graphics.

Now, because there aren’t any reels or rows, there’s also no specific pay lines in the game either. So, how do you generate wins in Well of Wonders, you might ask? It’s easy. You just need to match three or more of the same forest fruit symbols up to receive a pay out. And, because there aren’t any specific pay lines in the game, there’s no potential to customise such. However, you still have the opportunity to change the wager that you place per spin. This provides you with a range of between $0.10 and $100 to choose from per spin. There’s also the addition of an Autoplay feature, which allows you to spin the reels a specific number of times in succession at the same bet level.

Search Deep In to the Well

Now, one other area that Thunderkick can say it specialises in is bonus features. Some of its slot games have innovative and intriguing specialities within them. The same can be said for Well of Wonders too. Looking at the general icons and base game first of all though, you can earn the highest pay out from bringing seven red fruits in to view. This provides you with a pay out that is equal to 50 times your total in play wager. This is different to the lowest paying blue fruit, which rewards you with and eight times multiplier of your bet for seven.

Another great feature of this game comes whenever you manage to form wins on the screen. Every icon which forms a part of that win will disappear from the screen and make gaps for new symbols. Whenever this happens, the multiplier is doubled for the next win from that same spin (if one occurs). This continues on until no further wins can form from the new symbols appearing. The multiplier in play can be seen on the runes of the wishing well, with up to times 32 being available.

Also, make sure you keep your eyes open for the fairy in this game. She can appear at random on any non-winning spin and will trigger the Fairy Feature. This sees her wave her magic wand and remove all single symbols from the reels. Furthermore, the multiplier also increases and a re-spin takes place. Again, any consecutive wins forming will increase the multiplier again, up to a maximum of 32 times.

The Final Word

At first glance, Well of Wonders appears to be some peculiar slot offering. No reels. No rows. No pay lines. Just icons floating around the centre of the screen. However, it’s actually quite a charming game to play. And what’s more, it’s the kind of design we’ve come to expect from Thunderkick. It may not contain as many special features as most games at new slot sites, but it’s still entertaining. And don’t forget about those stellar graphics!
